The Push-Up Challenge
From February 11-28, I will be doing the Push-Up Challenge in Support of Canadian Mental Health Initiatives.
From February 11-28, 2025, I will be doing the 2,000 Push-Up Challenge to help benefit mental health initiatives through the Canadian Mental Health Association. The number 2,000 is in reference to the nearly 2,000 people worldwide who die by suicide each day - that’s one suicide every 40-seconds.
Working on the frontlines of mental health, I encounter people daily who are feeling suicidal, who have attempted suicide in the past, and those who have lost the people they love to death by suicide. It's a tremendous despair to experience and something I wish no one ever needs to experience firsthand.
If you are able to donate & want to support the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), you can do so by clicking on the link below that ties directly to my push-up challenge page:

You can also always donate to agencies in your local area or provide your time for mental health initiatives. Most importantly, make sure you take care of your mental health and check in with those closest to you who might be struggling: listen to them, take them seriously, ask directly about suicide, and help them access support or emergency help.

Strong start - let’s hope I don’t regret this later. Still a long way to go.

One of the reasons I took on this challenge and fundraiser for CMHA is their commitment to making mental health care more accessible and affordable. Many individuals I encounter in the healthcare system face wait times of 2–6 months because they can’t afford the $225–$250 per hour cost of a private psychologist. CMHA has played a direct role in developing programs and subsidizing low-cost therapy options, ensuring that people in distress receive support sooner without the heavy financial burden.
