Pixelmator Joins Apple
On February 11, 2025, Pixelmator Pro announced that they are officially “now part of Apple.”
On February 11, 2025, Pixelmator Pro received update 3.6.15, introducing a splash screen that officially confirmed Pixelmator Pro is now part of Apple.
While this isn’t entirely new information, Pixelmator had previously announced that the company, apps, and talent would be acquired by Apple back in November 2024, what this update signals is that all the legal and regulatory hurdles have now been complete.

The splash page that displayed upon launcing the update was a photograph of Apple Stage, the rainbow arch inside the courtyard of Apple Park. Aaron Perris (of MacRumors) tagged me in a post of the image that he pulled from the package, and I upscaled it to fit a 6K Mac display and made complimentary iPad & iPhone variations as well.
