Six Retro Stripes
This six-colour stripe wallpaper is a homage to the stock wallpapers included on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11, but with an added shading that'll look fresh on any device.
The inspiration for this design came first from Apple itself and the stripe wallpapers included in every version of iOS since iOS 11. I first took this concept and contemporized it shortly after the iMac was announced last year, updating the familiar stripes wallpaper with a colour palette that matched the bolder, deeper shades of Apple's latest Mac. Then in July of 2021, I created a 'retro' palette design and used the image I used in a number of blog posts. And most recently, while nervously puttering around on my laptop to channel my anxiety during playoff hockey, I updated the retro design with thicker stripes, which garnered a fair bit of attention on Twitter. In a final bit of polish, I completed a new six-colour design and added shading and gradients to form an almost gel-like appearance to the new stripes.
The designs are available in both a vintage palette & six-colour style in light, dark, and OLED black. And all styles are available for the Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Enjoy.
