macOS Ten Peaks
Since 2013, Apple's crack product marketing team has shifted from naming macOS releases after big cats (Panther, Tiger, Lion, Leopard, etc.) & moved towards "the places that inspire us" in California. Following the switch, Apple has released numerous annual versions of macOS from Mavericks, El Capitan, Sierra, Big Sur, and most recently, announcing macOS Monterey at WWDC21. And starting last year and continuing in 2021, Apple has showcased their latest OSs release with a vibrant & minimalist wallpaper.
Inspired by those wallpapers, I wanted to create a series of stylized wallpapers capturing some of the most breathtaking landscapes across Canada. I'm pleased to make the first release a location right outside my own backdoor: macOS Ten Peaks.
If you ever received a postcard from someone in Canada, there's a good-to-fair chance it was of this iconic Canadian destination. Located at the provincial border between British Columbia & Alberta, the Valley of the Ten Peaks surrounds the glacially-fed Moraine Lake, known for its signature azure blue waters resulting from the refraction of rock flour deposits in the water by the surrounding mountains.
Though no photo or illustration could ever do this landscape justice, I hope these wallpapers pay a fitting tribute to this gorgeous land! Ten Peaks is available as wallpaper for all your iDevices: there are day and night wallpapers in 6K that are perfect for whatever Mac you're sporting, and I also include crops to fit both the iPad & iPhone. I've also included a dynamic wallpaper that transitions between the day/night background as you shift between light/dark mode. I really hope you enjoy!

I’m just a one-person operation, working in healthcare by day and running this site as a passion project in my off time. If you enjoy my work (the articles, the wallpapers, my general demeanour… anything really), please consider leaving a tip through buymeacoffee - your support is incredibly appreciated!
