Commander 2023
Today marks the third year I'm releasing a collection of wallpapers and apparel under the Command-symbol motif. I released my first collection of Commander wallpapers and T-shirts in April 2021. That design went on to become so popular that the following year I updated it with a fresh coat of paint and some new products, including AirTags, MacBook Pros, Mac Studio & Studio Display, iPhone 13, & AirPods 3.
For 2023, I wanted to take the design in a completely new direction. This year the Command symbol is formed by the negative space produced by hundreds of different Apple products - from the Macintosh to the Apple Watch Ultra. The effect is an explosive new design that looks drop-dead stunning as a T-shirt and equally good as a companion wallpaper for all your Apple devices. And for 2023, I've continued adding new products, including the Apple Watch Ultra, iPod shuffle, 3rd generation iPod nano, and maybe even a trashcan Mac Pro or two.
T-Shirts
I've affectionately considered the Commander as my annual WWDC T-shirt, and excited to be releasing a trio of colorways ahead of Apple's annual developer conference:
You can buy one (or all three!) over on my page at Cotton Bureau. Available for a limited time.
Wallpapers
To complement the 2023 Commander shirts, I'm also releasing a collection of wallpapers for Apple devices. I have two designs for the iPhone: the first features the Commander symbol in negative space, while the second is a focus-discombobulating all-display wallpaper. And yes, I'm perfectly aware that these neon designs might send your retina's into shock, so I'm also including a subdued monochrome design. The most recent setup I've been rocking has been to turn off widgets on my device and having the all-colour design on the Lock Screen and the unblurred monochrome on the Home Screen. Looks wild!
On the Mac & iPad, I am releasing the same colour and monochrome variations featuring the negative space Commander design, just with few thousand fewer Apple products. Enjoy.
